AIRBORNE TROOP CARRIER
IX Troop Carrier Command in WW2
Research since 1999

BACKGROUND
In dedication to the men of the US AirborneTroop Carrier units of WW2.
Through the years (started Troop Carrier Research in 1999) I collected a lot of information. The past 20 year I helped numerous relatives of Troop Carrier veterans with information related tot their loved ones. Being able to help relatives is one of those great parts of the research. Also helped other authors, researchers and collectors to answer their questions.
My interest was triggered back in the mid 80s, when I was a teenager. The movie 'A Bridge to Far', and two Troop Carrier related books (Luchtbrug Market Garden - a Dutch book about the air war and losses; and Action of the Tiger - History of the 437th Troop Carrier Group) were instrumental in triggereing my interest. It took untill 1999 before I started my own research. This resulted in authoring books, articles, activeties with raising Troop Carrier monuments, temporary exhibitions, reunion trips to the USA (since 2009), meeting veterans and realtives in Holland, the USA and Germany and showing them places of interest. Becoming a member of the Nat. WW2 Glider Pilot Association Research Team and lots of correspondations. In 2012 I received the S. Tipton Randolph Memorial Award at the National WW2 Glider Pilot Association Reunion. What an honor to be recognized by the NWW2GPA!!!
You may also want to help. I am always looking for photos, stories, paperwork etc. that helps to find more details about those years. Your help enable to help others, and to get a complete as possible view of the Troop Carrier units in Europe during WW2.
